Selected work

Four objects, made slowly.

Everything leaves the shop in Eureka, California and is built to order. Here is the work we keep coming back to.

Crooked dining chair in oak with a gently raked back

No. 01 - Dining chair · 2018

Crooked

Solid white oak, ash

Every Crooked is cut with the rear stiles raked a degree or two off square, so each chair leans back into the room instead of standing at attention. Oak and ash, joined by hand, finished with a hard-wax oil that lets the grain read.

Bonita walnut-frame lounge chair with a cream cushion

No. 02 - Lounge chair · 2019

Bonita

Solid walnut, oak frame

Bonita sits low to the floor on a steam-bent walnut frame and carries a linen-and-cotton cushion. Shallow, slightly swept arms and a recline tuned over a winter in the shop.

Linea low walnut credenza with a continuous front

No. 03 - Credenza · 2020

Linea

Solid walnut, matte lacquer

Linea is a single horizontal plane of walnut held off the floor on three legs. Doors run nearly wall to wall on reveal hinges, so the front reads as one uninterrupted line of woodgrain.

Linear solid oak dining table on a steel trestle base

No. 04 - Dining table · 2021

Linear

Solid white oak, steel

Linear pairs a hand-flattened oak slab with a low steel trestle, built to the exact length of the room it was made for. Each top is cut from a single tree.
